Shiny crystals reloaded

Flashback time again...

The "silver crystal" used as a pendant

Two years ago I made a necklace inspired by the Sailor Moon-series for a design contest. (you can read about it in this post) The necklace was shiny, cute and fitted the theme well (imho), but to tell it frankly, was also way too flamboyant, multicoloured and flashy for everyday wearing (or even for special occasions). So I take it to pieces, and decided to use the compontens for different, more wearable pieces of jewellery. For example the focal piece (the "silver crystal") became a single pendant which I regularly wear since then.

But somehow, I grew to like the original design (it sat so nicely on my neck... I have no idea, how is this type of necklaces are called - collar? collier? carcanet?), so in this spring I decided to gave it another go. Since the focal was gone, I made another one - one with the same star-shape as the other components, and this time I used gold-coloured seedies for the connections too, so the overall look was more coherent, than in the first version. The silk ribbons were also omitted (I liked them, but they weren't safe enough for a closure), but their silky shine is echoed by the Swarovski imitation pearls I now used for the connections instead of the clear crystals. For the closure I chose a rose-shaped clasp  - so I you wish, now besides the Sailor girls, Tuxedo Mask too is represented here ;) Even if this rose is silver and not red...

Kokoro no kakera

Sounds cute, doesn't it? It means something like "fragment of heart"  in Japanese, and it was mentioned so often in the anime Princess Tutu, that even I could learn it :)

I like this series very much, so it's easy to understand, that the heart-shaped pendants by Swarovski reminded me inmediately of the heart-shards, which have a central role in the story. (In order to defeat a monster, the prince of the tale had sacrificed his own heart. The main character, Ahiru tries to collect the scattered pieces and so returning to him his lost feelings...)

This pendant, however, isn't meant to be a replica of any of the jewels in the film (the heart-shards were there simply red gems, while Tutu's pendant has a totally different design). It's only inspired by the story, nothing more...

Sailor Saturn jewelry (sort of)

I have already beaded a sun, moons and stars, and I was pondering what other celestial objects could be made. Planets were an evident choice, but I wanted something more spectacular. Well then, planets with rings? Saturn? Oh, that's right, Sailor Saturn has some cute earrings, doesn't she? So the idea was born. (After all, I quite liked her, although my absolute favourite senshi is Pluto. But since I don't have dark red beads, her jewelry isn't included in my short-term plans).

The planets themselves were not that tricky - a small peyote beaded bead plus the ring made with square stitch. The problem was the dangling part - it should have been a 3-dimensional, longish object, but I couldn't bead something similar, so at the end simply added big glass beads.

Then I decided to make a matching necklace too - but somehow I was convinced that the pendant on her choker is an eight-pointed star (similar to her brooch), so I made it that way. Only after finishing it came to my mind to check some reference pictures... Well, in the new anime it has indeed eight rays (but longer ones), while in the original anime only six, so my version is rather a mixture of the two...

2. "Maboroshi no ginzuishou" (the legendary silver crystal)

I've already shown this little cutie (it was the central piece of my necklace inspired by the Sailor Senshi), but here are some more pictures...

As you can see, it's not life-sized and the number of petals isn't correct either... but all in all, i'm pretty satisfied with it :)
Using these "crystal silver shade" Swarovskis was a good choice, they look somehow more... oh well... magical and noble than simple clear crystal beads. So the long and tiresome search wasn't in vain :)

Yeah, I've finally taken the necklace to pieces... I think I'll use the single elements for individual pieces of jewelry. It will be a fun and interesting challenge, creating jewelry matching to the characters :)

PS: I was asked how the pendant is attached to the ribbon - it has a loop on its back side, so it can be worn either on the ribbon (choker-style), or hanging from a chain.

 

Some more SM-inspired thingies 1.

 I've made a new pair of earrings - these are based on the ones Sailor Moon in her Eternal form wears in the original series. (The earrings I made earlier - described here - were inspired by the new anime...)

They are made with PRAW (prismatic right angle weave) - I really like this technique, one can make almost anything with it! :)

Még mindig nem unom... / Not yet tired of...

Nem, nem feledkeztem meg a múltkor mutatott gyöngyökről, csak éppen más projektek kötöttek le az utóbbi időben...

Mivel végre volt megfelelő színű delicám,  gondoltam, kipróbálom, milyen azzal megfűzve Eren kulcsa. (na meg mert végre itt az új évad, és awww, az az opening... *.*), Delicával tényleg jobb lett, mint anno 15/0 kásával, bár az is igaz, hogy a tökéletes megoldás a két gyöngyfajta kombinálása lenne (a négyzetes rész vékonyabb, legalábbis az általam használt referenciakép tanúsága szerint). Majd egyszer, talán... bár már két másik kulcs is szerepel a to-do-listámon ;)

No, I've not entirely forgotten about the lately shown crystal beads, only I was busy with other projects...

Because I've finally got delicas in the right colour (and because yay, season two is finally here!), I made a new version of Eren's key. It really looks better with delicas than with 15/0 seedies, but I guess combining the two bead types would give the perfect result. Well, maybe later... but I've already two other keys on my to-do-list ;)

Yup, the answer is Sailor Moon... ^.^" Now considering that I'm that kind of weird person who can be inspired to beadweaving even by a seinen (e. g. here: Eren's key), so easy to imagine what happens, if I start watching something, where everything shines and sparkles, some guys named after gemstones search for a crystal, and the heroine wears loooooooots of jewelry XD

És ha figyelembe vesszük, hogy engem akár még egy óriáskaszabolós seinen is képes volt gyöngyfűzésre inspirálni (Eren kulcsa), könnyű elképzelni, milyen eredménnyel járhat, ha elkezdek nézni egy kellően csilivili sorozatot, ahol ásványnevű fickók egy kristályt keresnek, a hősnőn meg annyi smukk van, hogy karácsonyfának is elmenne... (Na jó, talán kicsit túloztam. De most komolyan, az ember lánya  vagy tiarát hordjon, vagy hajcsatokat; vagy medálos nyakpántot, vagy brosst, de nem ezt így egyszerre mind, hát nem?)

Me, while watching Usagi transforming: "Hey look at that earring - I can also make something similar!" (I've made earlier moon and starlets too) - So I've got now one more pair of crazy earrings :)

 - Hoppá, nézzük csak azt a fülbevalót! Ilyesmit én is tudok csinálni, nem? (Tekintve, hogy mind holdacskát, mind csillagokat is fűztem már.) - Szóval a pillanatnyi felbuzdulás eredményeképpen most van egy újabb pár lehetetlen fülim...

Egy bizonyos pincekulcs végre elkészült / ein gewisser Kellerschlüssel ist endlich fertig :)

Érdekes, hogy mostanában a fangirl-énem már a gyöngyfűzésben is egyre jobban megmutatkozik :) Persze, korábban is inspiráltak az épp olvasott/nézett történetek, de inkább csak indirekt módon, pl. a színválasztás terén (például ez vagy ez)  Az elmúlt pár hónapban viszont egyre több konkrét tárgy, figura is született - a minionok, TIE-fighterek és BB-8 után ezúttal Eren kulcsa a Shingeki no kyojin c. animéből (itt egy kép róla) Na de miért is mondtam múltkor, hogy óriási kihívás, hiszen kb. mérethű, vagyis nem különösebben nagy darab? Hát éppen ezért, ugyanis a megfelelő méret érdekében 15/0 kásából készült... Ez már önmagában is nehezíti a dolgot, de ráadásul ez az arany gyöngy az átlagosnál kisebb lyukú, nekem viszont pont csak vastagabb damilom volt - szóval képzelhető, mennyit kellett küszködni vele... De véresre szurkált ujjakkal sem adtam fel  - végül is, Eren története pont arról szól, hogy mindig küzdjünk tovább ;) 

De amikor végre kész vagy magával a fűzéssel, és örülsz, milyen ügyes és menő vagy - aztán amint eldolgoznád a szálat, egy fontos ponton hopp, eltörik egy gyöngy és nincs nálad több abból a színből a pótláshoz... hát, az kb. ilyen  "eztnemhiszemelterohadékmiértpontvelemtörténikez" érzés volt... :)

Az enyéééém...

Eredetileg a húgomnak terveztem adni névnapjára (aki már évek óta mondogatta, milyen jó az AoT, csak eddig nem tudott rávenni, hogy nézzem meg), de amennyit küzdöttem vele, úgy döntöttem, ez bizony az enyém, nem adom senkinek (meg különben is, hibás lett...)

De a húgom véletlenül meglátta, és teljesen odáig volt érte - szóval jó testvér módjára fűztem neki is egyet. Ezúttal másféle gyöngyöt használtam (ugyanúgy 15/0, de gondolom, másféle bevonatú, ezért nagyobb lyukú), amellyel meglepően könnyebben ment a munka, sőt, a korábbi kínlódás helyett kifejezetten élvezetes volt :D

Amilyen ronda, őszies időnk volt mostanában, direkt passzol is...
 Nagyon régi, de gondoltam, megmutatom, ha már végre sikerült lefényképezni :)

Ez volt az egyik első komolyabb projektem még hat éve. Akkortájt néztük a legidősebb húgommal az Umineko no naku koro ni c. animét, onnan jött az ötlet, hogy készítsek neki karácsonyra egy olyasmi koronát, amilyet az egyik szereplő, Maria Ushiromiya hord (itt egy kép) Így utólag belegondolva, nem értem, hogy vehettem a fejembe ilyesmit, hiszen amúgy a frász tört ki Maria-chantól ^.^" Gondolom, a háromdimenziós tárgy jelentette kihívás motiválhatott...

Endlich konnte ich dieses uralte Ding fotografieren, so zeige ich es. (und weil das Wetter  hier so schlimm war, als ob Oktober wäre...)

Diese Krone war eine meiner erster "Großprojekte"vor sechs Jahren. Dann haben meine Schwester und ich den Anime Umineko no naku koro ni gesehen, deshalb habe ich für sie als Weihnachtsgeschenk ein solches Krönchen gemacht, das im Film Maria Ushiromiya trägt. Ich habe keine Ahnung, wieso ich auf eine solche Idee gekommen konnte, da Maria-chan ziemlich creepy ist, und ich manchmal Angst vor ihr hatte ^.^" Vielleicht hat mich die Herausforderung motiviert, einen dreidimensionale Objekt zu machen...

 Nem vagyok valami nagy képregényrajongó, nem igazán ismerem a Marvel-univerzumot (csak a filmek közül láttam párat), de azért nagyon várom már a Captain America: Civil War-t. És azt hiszem, egyértelmű, kinek szurkolok :P
Eredetileg különösebb cél nélkül próbálkoztam ezekkel a kis pajzsszerűségekkel, és én mondom, sokkal nehezebb feladat volt ám, mint amilyennek tűnik! Az ötágú csillag ugyanis nem igazán kompatibilis a körpeyote fűzéssel... Azért úgy-ahogy sikerült megoldani, még ha kissé bénácska is a végeredmény...
Időközben pedig hatalmas meglepetésemre kiderült, hogy Amerika Kapitány nagy kedvence az egyik húgomnak is, úgyhogy végül neki készítettem el ezt a szettet (fülbevaló és hajgumi). De azt hiszem, májusig fűzök még magamnak is... sőt, a másik tesónknak is - már persze, ha ki nem derül róla közben, hogy Tony-párti ;)

Well, I'm not a comic-geek, I don't really know the Marvel-universe (have only seen some of the films), but I'm really looking for the Captain America: Civil War. And yeah, it's obvious, whom I prefer ;)
I started experimenting with these shield-or-what-things without a clear purpose - and I tell you, it wasn't a simply challenge, because a star with five rays isn't very compatible  with the flat circular peyote stitch. But finally I have solved the problem, when even with a clumsy-looking result...
And than, my sister revealed herself as a fellow Captain America-fan, so I made this set for her. Maybe I'll make for May one for me as well... and for our other sis too  - unless she turns out to be Team Iron Man ;)

Az első rivolis medálom / My first rivoli pendant

Hogy miért? Az egyszerűbb magyarázat, hogy azután kezdtem el fűzni, hogy láttam Shinkai Makoto filmjét, a Hoshi o ou kodomot (magyarul Csillaghajsza lett a címe). A cselekményben fontos szerepet játszó kristály, a clavis juttatta eszembe a barátnőmtől korábban kapott rivolit. Akkor már nézegettem egy ideje képeket és leírásokat befoglalásokról, de kipróbálni még nem volt alkalmam - ez volt az első próbálkozásom.
És pontosan ez a másik ok, amiért ezt a zenét annyira passzolónak érzem. Régóta áhított jó minőségű gyöngyöket,  delicát és swarovskikat végre a kezemben érezni, kipróbálni azt a technikát, amit csak elméletben ismertem... tényleg, mintha egy régóta keresett másik világba érkeztem volna, ahogy a filmben Asuna és Morisaki-sensei Agarthába :)


Why this music? Well, I made this pendant after watching Hoshi o ou kodomo by Makoto Shinkai (the English title is Children who chase lost voices from deep below I think). The clavis-crystal from the film reminded me of this rivoli given by my friend. This was my first attempt to bezel a rivoli - and that's the other reason. Finally have the chance to work with Swarovski crystals and delicas, trying out a method known before just in theory... well, it was like arriving an other world longed and searched for long time, just like how Asuna and Morisaki-sensei reach Agartha in the anime :)
